J.T. Gilbert - Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney

The firm’s senior partner, J.T. Gilbert, is committed to obtaining justice and fairness for all of his clients. His commitment to excellence is demonstrated by his professional attainments. He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, an officer in the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys, and is a frequent writer on and lecturer to other attorneys about handling personal injury claims and jury trials.

Jerry W. Gilbert is a well-established criminal defense attorney.  His experience in criminal cases range from misdemeanors to felonies.  He has also been involved in numerous murder cases.  In addition to criminal cases, Jerry practices in other areas of the law such as family law and civil litigation.

Mark Shepherd’s practice is concentrated in real estate and business transactions. He has dealt with real estate transactions ranging form a first time home buyer to a multi-million dollar transaction.  He represents many developers and builders in Madison County, both large and small.  His practice brings him into contact with a diverse group of individuals and organizations, including banks, mortgage companies, real estate brokers and investors, and all of the major title insurance companies in the Eastern United States.  In addition, he provides representation to many businesses and investment venturers in Central Kentucky, setting up corporations and limited liability companies, and is involved in estate planning and winding up decedent’s estates.

Jason S. Wilson is an experienced civil and criminal trial attorney.  He offers his legal expertise to clients who need representation in cases of personal injury, criminal defense, civil litigation, and family law, which also includes child support and custody cases.

Robert L. “Bobby” Russell serves as “Of Counsel” to the firm. Bobby’s practice is focused on wills and estate planning, probate and administration of estates, and real estate. He is a former Madison County Attorney and served as the Inspector General of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet from September, 2002, until November, 2004.

Coy, Gilbert & Gilbert has an experienced and dedicated staff providing assistance to our attorneys and clients. Our senior litigation assistant, Carla Roberts, has been with the firm for more than seventeen years, and our senior real estate paralegal, Amy Rogers, more than fifteen years. We also have a litigation paralegal, Rachel Russell, and Denise Anderkin is our real estate assistant and bookkeeper, both have been with the firm for more than four years.  Janet Reynolds has recently joined our firm’s secretarial staff after 18 years with Robert Russell, who is now Of Counsel to our firm. Amanda Pelfrey completes our secretarial staff.
